Moderated by Christina Johnson, MA, featuring Kerriann Peart (PhD in International Psychology), Annie Jordan (PhD in Depth Psychology), and Jean-Luc Constantine (UNICEF Mental Health Focal Point).
April 17th, 2024 – Wielding the Sword and the Shield: Career Development & Climate Justice
- Learn how the climate crisis is affecting our clients’ mental health, careers, and counselling theories that lend themselves to advocacy. Liberation psychology, Feminist, and Psychology of Working theories and practices are explored to create change within the individual and society.
April 24th 2024 -Making Good Trouble
- A panel discussion on effective advocacy leading to system-wide change in how mental health services are delivered in Nova Scotia. Attendees heard from panelists on questions about advocacy in the counselling profession and “making good trouble.” Folks who are unfamiliar with the expression “making good trouble” are invited to see https://www.arts.gov/stories/blog/2021/artists-reflect-what-it-means-make-good-trouble.
April 2nd, 2025 – Caribbean Conversations: Climate Change and Mental Health (1hour 7 mins)
- This session, with speakers Emily Anna Bachan, Dr. William Hamilton, and moderator Christina Johnson, highlights the lived experiences of Caribbean communities navigating the dual crises of climate change and mental health. Discussions center on community resilience and the urgent need to address mental health disparities in climate-vulnerable regions.
