Are you a current CCPA member in good standing?

Are you a counsellor educator in a master’s level counselling program in a Canadian post-secondary institution?

Do you want to develop skills and make positive contributions in the area of counsellor education accreditation as a site visitor?

This workshop is just for you!

Did you know that the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) supports the accreditation of master’s level counsellor education programs in Canada?

In 2003, CCPA established the Council on Accreditation of Counsellor Education Programs (CACEP), which has been operating ever since and recently has undergone an extensive review.

On-site visits by a team of experts in the field are an essential part of the CACEP review process. CACEP is seeking to broaden the base of site visitor expertise available to review masters programs seeking accreditation.

For this half day pre-conference training workshop, Drs. William Borgen and Sharon Robertson (CACEP Co-Chairs) will examine the most current CACEP accreditation standards with examples and discussions about how these standards might be met. They will also explain the CACEP accreditation process, focusing on the conduct of site visits.

This is an interactive workshop which will include the use of scenarios, role-plays, and discussion to foster development of knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to be a CACEP site visitor.

When? The half day site visitor training workshop will be held on May 16, 2017 from 8:30 am – 12:00 noon Newfoundland Time.

Where? St. John’s, Newfoundland at the 2017 CCPA annual conference.
