Important message for all CCPA members who work in Ontario

As you are aware CCPA has been following the work of Transitional Council (TC) that is responsible for setting up the regulatory process for the new College of Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Mental Health Therapists of Ontario (CRPMHTO).

We have good news, followed by challenge!

The good news is that the TC for the CRPRMHTO is named and already hard at work; what’s more, that the TC’s Professional Members ‘get’ the concerns and hopes of the Ontario Coalition (OCMHP) because 6 out of 8 are members of Associations within the Coalition.  Wonderful!

The challenge comes from the fact that – with the advent of the Transitional Council –  we now enter a totally different phase of work. 

The TC has two major ‘working committees’:  The Registration Committee (chaired by Pat De Young) and the Professional Practice Committee (chaired by Kevin VanDerZwet Stafford).

We need to be involved in their work by becoming active. The first step in becoming active is to learn about the work of the TC.

To that end, CCPA is scheduling a series of teleconferences which will update CCPA members on the work of the TC. These teleconferences will be held at the following dates and times:

English:
Feb 18 – 8:00 a.m., 12:00, 4:00 p.m.
Feb 22 – 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m.
Feb 23 – 4:00 p.m.
Feb 25 – 12:00 p.m.
Feb 26 – 4:00 p.m.

French:
Feb 23 – 12:00 p.m.
Feb 25 – 4:00 p.m.
Feb 26 – 12:00 p.m.

Each teleconference will be 1 hour in length and all teleconferences will be the same so you only need to attend one.
