Mission Statment

The Alberta/NWT Chapter was officially formed in June 2010 with the by-laws passed by the National Board in November 2010.  The Executive is made up of a President, President-Elect, Secretary-Treasurer, Coordinator of Professional Development, Coordinator for Advocacy and Professional Identity, and Coordinator for Provincial Regulation as well as a number of Regional Directors: Northwest Territories, Peace River, Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Calgary and Southern Alberta. The Alberta/NWT Chapter is a community of diverse professionals, identified as counsellors, who facilitate professional development and support as well the advancement of the profession within Alberta and the Northwest Territories. The objectives of the Chapter are to promote an identity of those in the counselling field; connect with practitioners in the counselling field in Alberta and the NWT, and to develop connections with various counselling-related associations in Alberta. The Chapter also serves as a direct link with the National Association (CCPA), in a reciprocal exchange, toward the achievement of mutually desired aims and objectives.

Constitution and Bylaws

The Chapter’s bylaws are a set of rules that control the actions of its members and govern the internal management of the Chapter.

Chapter Notices

Notice of AGM & Professional Development Day

Notice of AGM & Professional Development day for the Alberta/Northwest Territories Chapter to be held on SUNDAY September 20th.

The afternoon will feature the Annual General Meeting where the current Board will share the exciting news that we have been involved in over the past year, update our bylaws, and elect new Board members.

As an added bonus, we will also be hosting a PD session on living with Disordered Eating from a mother’s perspective.  We’ll keep you posted on these exciting details—for now, hold the date!

Both sessions will be held by video-conference so no matter where you are in our vast and beautiful region you can join us. More details will follow as we edge closer to the date.

Several sites will be hosting groups to enjoy the presentations together, engage in dialogue and relationship building–want to host a site?  You only need access to a room that has computer access a large enough screen so that people can see and hear the presentation with ease.  It is not hard to “call in” and there is no cost to host.

Light refreshments will be offered and will be covered by the Board.  Interested?  Let myself or Past-President, Nicole Imgrund know and we will add you to the list.  Whether you can host a small group (3-4) or a larger group (10-15), the fellowship will be appreciated I am sure!

We look forward to having you join us!
