About the Event

Paws, Hooves, and 60 Years of Practice: Dogs, Horses, Standards and Welfare in AAHS is a one-day mini conference hosted by the Animal-Assisted Human Services (AAHS) Chapter of the CCPA, created for professionals working in or exploring the field of animal-assisted interventions.

In honour of CCPA’s 60th anniversary, this event will reflect on how far the field has come while looking toward the future of ethical, evidence-informed practice. Through engaging sessions led by experts, attendees will explore key topics such as understanding canine behaviour and body language, the neuroscience behind equine-assisted approaches, national standards for training and practice, and the critical importance of animal welfare in professional settings.
