Currently regulates practice of Counselling Therapy and/or Psychotherapy? Yes

The title of psychotherapist and the practice of psychotherapy are reserved. This means that anyone who is neither a physician nor a psychologist and who wishes to practice psychotherapy and use the title of psychotherapist must hold a psychotherapist’s permit issued by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec. This results from a decision of the Quebec Government to limit the increase in new Orders (colleges) as additional professions become regulated.
