\"tablet-690032_640\"<\/a>I\u2019ve said it before and I\u2019ll say it again. Summer is the perfect time for catching up on all that reading you intended to do in the fall and winter.\u00a0\u00a0 A time to curl up on the nearest deck chair and luxuriate in reading.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s on my list this summer?<\/p>\n

Well, for starters – the entire issue of the British Journal of Guidance & Counselling, Volume 43, Issue 1, which was published in January 2015.<\/p>\n

The editors, Goss and Hooley, say this issue on Online Practice in Counselling and Guidance, \u00a0\u201clooks at the impact of the online environment on the practice of guidance, counselling, psychotherapy and related services\u2026. it explores\u2026ongoing (technological) changes and in places looks forward to ways in which the future development of the disciplines might be influenced by current technological trends\u201d.<\/p>\n

Written from several different perspectives I can see it will be a very thought provoking read.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Next up on my list is the special issue of Cyberpsychology: Journal of Psychosocial Research on Cybersapce, 9 (1).[1]<\/a> \u00a0As a school counsellor I am feel I need to know more about their special topic, which is \u201cMediation of Children\u2019s ICT Usage\u201d. The editors say, \u201cThe aim of the special issue is to build upon existing knowledge concerning the mediation of children\u2019s us\"hat-825456_640\"<\/a>e of digital technology.\u201d When they say \u2018children\u2019 the range is from 0 \u2013 16 years old. The articles also offer a variety of cross-cultural perspectives.\u00a0\u00a0 I am particularly interested in the article on children\u2019s views of parental mediation of children\u2019s use of technology.<\/p>\n

Third on my summer reading list is the Winter 2015 TILT (Therapeutic Innovations in Light of Technology)[2]<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 The Online Therapy Institute publishes this magazine on a quarterly basis (which means a new issue will be out soon!). It\u2019s always an enjoyable read with loads of practical articles and fascinating ideas. \u00a0I plan to start with the article on encryption and then move on to cybersupervision.<\/p>\n

That should keep me busy for a while. Now what am I going to read for fun?<\/p>\n
