{"id":5564,"date":"2013-12-06T16:15:09","date_gmt":"2013-12-06T21:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ccpa.scottbuckingham.ca\/blog\/?p=3161"},"modified":"2013-12-06T16:15:09","modified_gmt":"2013-12-06T21:15:09","slug":"diversity-wheel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ccpa-accp.ca\/fr\/diversity-wheel\/","title":{"rendered":"Diversity Wheel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Who can even believe that 2013 is nearly over, we are shoveling snow here in Toronto and life has come to a full circle\u2026.speaking of circles,\u00a0 I would like to share a tool that I recently came in contact with while attending seminar on cultural competences. It\u2019s called the Diversity Wheel. Many\u00a0 of you might be familiar with it and for those who are not, it might be an useful tool\/activity\/exercise to incorporate in our interactions with our clients. I have come to realize that all of us are multicultural counsellors working within the melting pot context of diversity.<\/p>\n<p>So the purpose of the Diversity Wheel can be twofold, first it Can be used to educate and inform about the\u00a0 different levels and types of\u00a0 diversity; and\u00a0 secondly to begin the self-assessment process in developing cultural competence with diverse groups. Sometimes called as the Four Level Model, The \u201cDimensionsof Diversity\u201dwheel shows the complexity of the diversity filters through which all of us process stimuli and information.
