The Compassion Project
The Compassion Project started in 2019 as a social justice initiative to advocate for the needs of our community regarding limited access to quality antioppressive mental health care.
We provide psychotherapy services for folks who don’t fit or don’t have access to the healthcare system for a variety of reasons. The Compassion Project also provides psychotherapy services for helpers, counsellors/therapists, healthcare workers, first responders and other community helpers. We recognize that often it’s difficult to ask for help. We have locations in Hamilton, Toronto and Winnipeg in person or online.
At The Compassion Project, we believe that sometimes it is difficult to ask for help. We also recognize that there are times when we all need help and support. Whether it’s having someone safe to talk to, or help with navigating health care systems, it is our mission to be your support, to provide you with safer, confidential, psychotherapy services. St. Stephen’s College is an affiliated degree-granting graduate college of the University of Alberta. Our Master of Psychotherapy and Spirituality and our Post-Master’s Art Therapy Diploma programs form students to be spiritually-informed psychotherapists, counselors, and art therapists who are well grounded in the integration of psychological and spiritual knowledge as a holistic foundation for effective therapeutic practice. The graduate programs in our Department of Psychotherapy and Spirituality have been developed in response to an expressed need for formal graduate counselling training that integrates psychology and spirituality.
Graduate studies at St. Stephen’s College is flexible and designed for the working professional. Many courses are offered as five-day intensives (rather than the traditional semester-long format), while others are offered online or through a mixed on-campus/online format. St. Stephen’s is committed to offering courses and programming that is accessible and which cultivates a diverse learning community. All of St. Stephen’s programs are openly accessible to people from any faith tradition.
As an educational partner of the University of Alberta, St. Stephen’s College grants divinity degrees in spiritually-informed psychotherapy, art therapy, and theology. St. Stephen’s offers graduate programs that educate the whole person (body, mind, and spirit) and equip caregiving professionals and ministers with the intellectual, applied, and spiritual capacity needed for service in the public sphere.
The New Brunswick Career Development Association (NBCDA) is a non-profit partnership organization committed to career development in New Brunswick. As a group, we play a leadership role in the career development field. We do this by encouraging cooperation, coordination, networking, and information-sharing amongst our members and with other groups.
