We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted clients and practitioners across the country. We continue to advocate for members and keep them informed on updates that affect their practice.

We have been made aware of different volunteer opportunities across the country and are being asked to spread the word about these initiatives. We encourage members who are willing and able to participate and share information about the following volunteer opportunities to do so.

We would like to remind all members that it is important for them to practice self-care during this difficult time. We thank you for your work!

Ontario COVID-19 Mental Health Network

We are a network of Ontario-based mental health professionals dedicated to supporting frontline COVID-19 workers during the evolving crisis.

As the COVID-19 Virus pandemic spreads so will the toll on Ontarians providing frontline healthcare: doctors, nurses, nursing aides, paramedics, and so on. It has become evident that this population lacks adequate emotional and mental support, and can feel isolated and stigmatized for their contact with those who have been infected. Our goal is to help these workers feel connected, supported, and to provide one-on-one pro bono therapy for those who need it.

We are doing this as a temporary measure during the crisis to help reduce friction, offer fast mental health support, and address a terrible gap in our system around mental health.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

If you are seeking teletherapy and are a healthcare worker who has been impacted by COVID-19 in your workplace, you can request support.

If you are licensed to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy in Ontario and are willing to provide pro bono (short-term, ongoing) tele-sessions, please volunteer here.
