The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) has been offering leadership in the field of counselling since 1965, and has been promoting policies and practices which support the provision of accessible, competent, and accountable counselling services throughout the human lifespan, and in a manner sensitive to the pluralistic nature of society. CCPA members represent many diverse fields of education, employment and career development, social work, business, industry, mental health, public service agencies, government, private practice and non-profit organisations from every sector of the Canadian society. Members are, through affiliation, in contact with thousands of business organizations across Canada. CCPA works to ensure the continued growth and success of the counselling profession in Canada by providing networking opportunities, professional development, and research support. Essentially, CCPA is the central informational resource for Canada's vibrant counselling profession.

There are four ways to advertise through CCPA. 

1) COGNICA

Cognica is a bilingual newsletter and is published 4 times a year, 8 1/2 " X 11" format. This publication is distributed to upwards of 4,000 counsellors in Canada.

Guidelines for Advertisers
Cognica is published four times a year.

Please email your prepared ad (Camera ready), to memberservices@ccpa-accp.ca along with the desired advertising details and the completed copy of the advertising contract (i.e. publication, issue(s), page size). We will then run the ad and mail you a copy of the publication with your invoice.

You can send your ad electronically in the following formats: Word, High Resolution PDF.

If your ad needs to be set and/or translated, send us the details. These services will be at an additional cost and will be added to the printing charges.

2) Direct Mail-Outs

Although we do not rent or sell our Members' List, we can do Direct Mail-outs (outside of the regular Cognica Mail-out) providing you get the material directly to us and all ready to be mailed (stuffed in envelopes).

Please send a sample to the CCPA National Office for approval. Once approved, fill the contract form that you will find below and send all your material already stuffed in #10 envelopes to the CCPA National Office.

3) List-Serv (E-Mail)

We can also send a "broadcast" e-mail to our members who subscribe to our list-serv for a fee of $90 per announcement (simple text, no attachment permitted).  Please note that the advertisement will be sent out as part of the ListServ.  Therefore, other advertisements could be included in the content of the email. Please fill the contract form below and send your message to the CCPA National Office.

4) Isolated Email

Another option is to send an emailer containing your ad by itself.  The fee is $150 per announcement.  The subject of this emailer will correspond to your ad. 

Please note that there is a limit of 1 ad email per week.  Be sure to call in advance to reserve for a specific week.
