Sue McIntosh
Alberta

What CCPA means to me:

The support of a national professional body that has been consistently interested in and supportive of my very ‘non traditional' approach has been invaluable.  It was especially encouraging during those first few years of private practice and starting up a new business which can be a harrowing time!  I have really enjoyed meeting the many wonderful CCPA members who have attended training in Equine Facilitated Wellness and Animal Assisted Therapy with me over the years, and I am very much looking forward to when the CCPA Conference comes to Calgary!

Kevin Alderson
Alberta

What CCPA means to me:

I have never met a nicer bunch of people actually and I wouldn't trade them for any other group. That is my primary reason for belonging to CCPA. There are many professional organizations that counsellors can join but more important is that you feel a sense of belonging.

Miriam Duff
Manitoba

 What CCPA means to me:

I have benefited greatly from being a part of CCPA, specifically in terms of networking (across Canada!) by specific interest groups (the chapters) and professional development opportunities (the conferences and workshops are great!). I consider the dialogue made possible through this organization essential to ongoing learning and growth, for myself as well as the field in general. I value having access to the organization's list of qualified professionals, by geographic region, it is a highly relevant and useful referral resource. I appreciate the benefits of professional affiliation for consultation, resource and insurance purposes.

Lorna Martin
Manitoba

 What CCPA means to me:

CCPA has meant a wider worldview, a deeper understanding of
counselling and psychotherapy competencies, and a broader network of
professional colleagues. As each year passes, I have come to recognize that CCPA means "family" to me: a group of individuals related to each other through sharing, consulting, laughing, crying, and learning. It is a
community of healers, learners, teachers, mentors, and friends all with the
same goal: to help others to live more fulfilled lives.
