The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association aims to keep its' members up-to-date regarding news within the counselling profession by sending out a regular electronic bulletin. All CCPA members can subscribe to the listserv by indicating that they would like to do so on their membership or renewal form, or by sending an email to the national office. Likewise, they can opt out of the listserv the same way.
CCPA also provides its' members with a list of professional development activites and conferences related to the field. The purpose of these lists is to aid its' members in reaching their required 24 CEU credits needed to maintain their certification. Continual educational growth is the means by which qualified practitioners maintain the skills and knowledge necessary to provide high standards of counselling practice. Practitioners also participate in professional development activities to learn new developments in the counselling field or develop new areas of specialized practice. Participation in continuing education is an important activity that contributes to high standards of excellence in the provision of counselling services.
INSURANCE with CCPA
CCPA certified members are entitled to discount rates on professional liability insurance. Members can also apply for home, automobile and life insurance.
