The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and its' chapters recognize the professional contributions of Canadians in the field of counselling by offering a number of different awards including:

An awards competition will be held each year: Four (4) categories one year and four (4) categories the following year, so that each award is presented biennially.
Awards will be presented at the annual CCPA conference in the following categories:
Odd years
The CCPA Doctoral Dissertation Award
The CCPA Counselling Resources and Training Materials Award
The Counsellor Practitioner Award
The Robert Langlois Award for Bilingualism
Even years
The CCPA Masters Thesis Award
The CCPA Research Article Award
The CCPA Professional Article Award
The CCPA Counselling Book Award
To nominate yourself or another CCPA member, please download and fill the Nomination form and mail it to the CCPA National office before December 15.
CCPA has dedicated a portion of it's SSHRC grant by providing two $500 awards in support of student members who wish to attend the CCPA Annual conference. Student members from all CCPA regions are invited to apply, but must attend the conference to receive the award.
In support of Graduate Student research, Marsh, the CCPA Professional Liability Insurance Broker of Choice, has provided two $500 awards to student members demonstrating academic excellence.
To nominate yourself or another CCPA student member for either of these awards, please forward the required information to the CCPA National office before December 15.

Candidates for the following distinguished special awards can be posed by any member of the Association but must have the recommendation of the Executive and the support of at least 2/3 of the Board of Directors.
The CCPA Honorary Life Membership may be awarded to members who have made a considerable contribution to the aims and objectives of the Association.
The CCPA Professional Contribution Award may be awarded to a member in recognition of outstanding professional contribution to Counselling in Canada.
The Lorne Flavelle Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service may be awarded to a long-serving member in recognition of outstanding volunteer service to CCPA.

Dr. R. Vance Peavy Travel Bursary - CD Chapter
The Career Development Chapter is offering a bursary of $300 toward attending the following conferences: the annual CCPA (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association) conference or the annual NATCON conference.
Applicants must be full-time students in a graduate or other post-secondary programs in counselling, career counselling, or career development who haev research interests in career development.
Preference will be given to students who are presenting or who have writtean a paper.
Please include the following in your application:
Applications will be ranked according to the above criteria, and a decision will be made by the Executive. The winner will be expected to provide a summary of their presentation for the CDC Bulletin or to present their paper at the annual CDC meeting during the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association conference.

Doctoral Student Dissemination Award - CE Chapter
Purpose
The CE Chapter wishes to encourage CCPA members who are pursuing doctoral studies to consider a career as a counsellor educator. The CE Chapter Doctoral Student Dissemination Award is intended to assist these members achieve this goal. The award provides financial assistance to doctoral students travelling to the CCPA annual conference to present a conference paper.
Eligibility
Candidates must be CCPA members (regular or student) in good standing and enrolled in a doctoral program at an accredited university. Candidates must also have a conference paper accepted for presentation at the either the annual CCPA conference.

The award is valued at $500. The award is presented to the winning candidate at the annual CE Chapter meeting held in conjunction with the annual CCPA conference.
A minimum of one award is given annually. A second award may be made if funds are available.
